The single most common regret we hear isn't about a design — it's about size. "I wish I'd gone bigger" comes up far more often than the reverse, so here's how to get it right the first time.
Start with the wall, not the print
Before you fall in love with a design, measure the space it's going into. A good rule of thumb for a piece hung alone above furniture — a sofa, console, or bed — is for the art to cover roughly 60–75% of the furniture's width. A single print above a 72" sofa, for example, generally wants to be in the 36–48" range.
Match the size to the spot
- Shelves, desks, gallery-wall clusters: our smaller sizes (8×10″ up to 12×18″) work best here, especially grouped with two or three others.
- Above a console, counter, or small table: mid sizes (16.5×23.3″ to 20×30″) fill the space without overwhelming it.
- A full wall that needs one confident piece: go big — 24×36″ is our largest format, and it's the size people are happiest with in hindsight.
When in doubt, size up
Every product page includes a size chart comparing our print dimensions against common furniture widths, so you can picture the exact scale before you order. If you're between two sizes, the larger one is almost always the better call.
