Framing and Displaying Your Print: A Quick Guide

Your print arrives ready to frame — here's how to get it looking its best.

If it arrived rolled

Rolled posters can have a temporary curl straight out of the packaging. Unroll it gently and lay it face down on a clean, flat surface, then place a few books or another smooth, evenly weighted object on top for a few hours (overnight for a stubborn curl). Avoid creasing or folding — a curl relaxes; a crease doesn't.

Choosing a frame

All of our standard sizes — 8×10″, 11×14″, 12×18″, 16.5×23.3″, 20×30″, 24×36″, and the rest — are common off-the-shelf frame sizes, so you won't need custom framing. A simple black, white, or natural wood frame tends to let the artwork do the talking; a mat adds breathing room if you want a more gallery-like look.

Where to hang it

Center artwork at roughly eye level — about 57–60 inches from the floor to the center of the piece is the standard museum guideline. Above furniture, leave 4–8 inches between the top of the piece and the furniture below it.

Keeping it looking sharp

Our matte finish resists glare, so it reads well under most lighting — but direct, prolonged sunlight will fade any print over time. A spot out of direct sun keeps colors truest longest.
